On Monday, November 17th, Samuel has his next appointment with the pediatric neurologist for his epilepsy. He has been on an anti-seizure medication called Keppra since August 21st, but despite regularly increasing the dosage over these past weeks, he is still experiencing an average of one seizure per week. It appears the medication is not working, and we will be meeting with the doctor to determine what to try next. This will probably mean trying a different medication and dealing with a new set of side effects.
We had great hopes that the Keppra would work, so we are indeed disappointed, but we know God will work all things for the good of those who love Him. And we definitely love Him, more than ever. He has provided us with amazing grace and strength and trust which we would not have known if life had gone perfectly. He is our Hope, and we are humbled that we are entitled to lean upon Him and turn to Him in everything.
Samuel is still the handsome, intelligent, vibrant, comical, outgoing child he has always been, and for that we are very grateful.
Thank you for praying for Him through all of this. We have not given up praying for his healing while at the same time trusting our Lord to carry us through.
