Samuel had an appointment with the neurologist this afternoon. He will be starting a new medication called Lamictal because his current one, Keppra, is not working. We will begin at a very low dose of the Lamictal and slowly work our way up to full dose while at the same time slowly decreasing the Keppra over the coming weeks.This medication is the doctor's second choice because although it has no side effects to speak of, there is a greater possibility of an allergic reaction than Keppra. This would entail a reaction in his kidneys which would manifest itself at first in a rash. We pray he will not have a reaction and that it will stop his seizures. Will you please pray as well? Even better, will you pray that our Great God will grant a miracle?
